Stevens powers Layton over Clearfield
Layton took down Clearfield 49-38 behind a monster night from Cheryl Stevens. She recorded a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Lancers earned their first region victory of the season.
Mallory Packard and Jocelyn Martinez each recorded nine points on a trio of 3-pointers as the attack from downtown played a pivotal role in the game.
“We are down a few players and my younger players stepped up and played amazing to help the team get a great win,” commented Layton coach Rob Reisbeck.
