San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to the media to provide a few injury updates on Monday. Shanahan said that tight end Jordan Reed has a knee sprain and would go on the short-term injured reserve. Once Reed returned to the game on Sunday, he sustained an MCL injury. Shanahan said Reed’s timetable to return is between six to eight weeks.
Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), George Kittle (knee), and Raheem Mostert (knee) will all be evaluated during Wednesday’s practice. Shanahan also mentioned that K’Waun Williams had hip discomfort, so he’ll be evaluated as well.
Shanahan said that linebacker Mark Nzeochoa injured his quad and is likely headed for the short-term injured reserve.
