Duke has pulled out of the ACC men’s basketball tournament due to a positive COVID-19 case within the program, the school announced Thursday morning.
“This will end our 2020-21 season,” Duke athletics director Kevin White said in a statement. “We wish every team still playing college basketball good health and the very best during the next few weeks.”
Duke, which was considered a bubble team for the NCAA Tournament needing another win or two to secure a spot in the field, was slated to play Florida State on Thursday evening in Greensboro, N.C.
Duke hadn’t missed the NCAA Tournament since 1995.
