Meet the Mets
The Mets played the Dodgers last night in the first of their brutal stretch of thirteen straight games against two of the best teams in the league. They overcame an early 4-0 deficit and went into extra innings against Los Angeles, but Jeurys Familia—pitching for a third straight day—gave up a two-run homer to Will Smith in the top of the tenth, and the Amazins only managed one run in the bottom of the frame and fell 6-5.

Yesterday was not a good day for the Mets on the injury front, as the team shut down Jacob deGrom for another two weeks and placed Javier Báez on the 10-day injured list.
In some positive news, Michael Conforto has finally shown signs of heating up in recent days.
If the Mets want to go anywhere this year, they will need to hold their own…
