
MOBILE, Ala. — The 16-month wait which followed Savannah State’s celebratory, breakthrough football season, finally ended Saturday with a special arranged game.
What it yielded at Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium gave the Tigers a mix of hope and sobering reminder of the short separation between success and frustration.
Leading 28-24 in a back-and-forth battle, Savannah State committed a trio of fourth-quarter kicking game errors, leading into the University of West Alabama’s eventual 36-28 victory in the third annual Gulf Coast Challenge.
