We sincerely hope there’s not a Trophy for seeing all of the endings in upcoming teen horror The Quarry, because there’s a whopping 186 of them. No, that’s not a typo: one-hundred-and-eighty-six. The developer Supermassive Games explained in an interview with IGN just how it managed to cram so many conclusions into the title.
“We write it like a movie screenplay,” director Will Byles explained. “Actors are used to a 100-page script [on a movie], the script for this is over 1,000 pages. They can get very alarmed. We have to shoot 50 pages a day, which is unheard of. It’s a mad amount of footage.” As you’d expect, there’s a lot of repetition of similar scenes, to account for all the gameplay permutations.
