The 2021 high school football season officially opens this week.
With that in mind, here are 14 key regular-season dates to keep in mind this fall.
As always – at least in the last two years with COVID-19 – the schedule is subject to change and likely will.
THURSDAY, AUG. 19

Guntersville vs. Handley
The first game of the AHSAA’s Kickoff Classic at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery features defending 4A champ Handley against Guntersville. The Tigers went 12-1 a year ago with the only loss coming by one point against Class 5A Central-Clay County. Guntersville went 10-1 in 2020, averaging nearly 50 points a game.
