Ample attention this week has been on Mac Jones and Alabama’s potent passing game, but Auburn isn’t forgetting about that other aspect of the Tide’s explosive offense: running back Najee Harris.
Not only does Alabama tout an explosive downfield passing game and the Power 5′s highest-scoring offense, led by Heisman contender Jones, but it also features the SEC’s top running back in Harris. The senior leads the league with 113.86 rushing yards per game and an FBS-best 16 rushing touchdowns — and now he’ll be going up against an Auburn defense that has been somewhat susceptible to the run this season, ranking 10th in the SEC against the run.
“There’s no doubt they’re going to run it at us this week,” Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said.
