A lead designer on World Of Warcraft Classic was apparently terminated by Blizzard Entertainment after opposing a staff member evaluation plan.
According to Bloomberg (using PC Gamer), Brian Birmingham– that is the lead designer on the 2019 video game– declined to provide a staff member a reduced evaluation in order to satisfy an allocation presented by Blizzard in 2021.
It’s claimed that the procedure– called “stack ranking”– calls for supervisors to provide around 5 percent of their employees a reduced efficiency evaluation to fit on a normal curve of family member efficiency.
Sources at Activision Blizzard informed Bloomberg that a reduced ranking leads to a decrease of a staff participant’s profit-sharing reward as well as “could hamper them from receiving raises or promotions in the near future”.
