BUFFALO, N.Y. — Six different applicants have provided bids to New York to run mobile sports betting in the state.
One of the bids is made up of a team of industry giants DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM.
“What I love about some of the applicants is their diverse background in the industries of which they bring in together — retail, entertainment, sports of course,” state Senate Gaming Committee Chair Joe Addabbo said.
The gaming commission will award contracts to a minimum of two platform providers and four sports betting operators. Addabbo said the process is on track now with bidders set to make oral presentations in September and finalists hopefully chosen before the end of the year.
