Forza Horizon’s creator has been working on the RPG for quite some time.
Tom Gaulton, a lead engineer at Playground Games, took to Twitter to commemorate his fourth year with the studio, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to work on Fable over that period. With the game’s initial reveal in July 2020, this is the first solid indication of how long the game has been in the development at the Microsoft-owned studio.
According to a recent tweet from a Playground Games developer, the studio’s Fable revival has been in the works for nearly four years.
Since Fable’s reveal, Playground Games has remained tight-lipped on the reboot, which will be the first entry in the franchise since Fable III in 2014.
