
With Battlefield 2042 set to launch next month, EA has updated its Dual Entitlement program. Previously, those who were looking to upgrade from the PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 version of the game for free would have to purchase the Gold Edition for a whopping $99.99. In other words, while the upgrade was “free,” it wasn’t really free because of how much extra you’d be paying.
That’s changed now, as the standard digital edition of Battlefield 2042 on PlayStation 5 now includes EA’s Dual Entitlement feature, meaning it comes with both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. So far it seems that this next-gen bundle only applies to the digital versions of the game and not physical copies.
