According to a fresh report from Sensor Tower, PUBG mobile, the popular battle royale title was the top-grossing mobile game worldwide for August 2020. With an increased spike of 25.5% over last year, it earned more than $221 million in August alone.
Although around 59% of these total revenues have come from the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile, called Game for Peace. The United States was ranked second in revenue with 9.5 percent coming from the country while Japan was third with 5.2 percent.
Tencent’s ‘Honor of Kings’ is the second highest-earning mobile game worldwide with over $204.8 million in gross revenue over the last month. The game is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game that is only available in China and has been developed by Tencent Games’ Timi Studios.
