Since 2006, the NFL has staged three games on Thanksgiving.
Let’s face it, you know you’re going to watch, but wouldn’t it be nicer if the Green Bay Packers were involved?
Instead, this season we’re forced to watch Detroit and Minnesota play (I mean, the Lions are always one of the games, as is Dallas. Yay.). C’mon!
The Packers haven’t played on Thanksgiving since 2015, when they hosted Chicago and lost 16-13. The last win on the holiday came in 2010, 27-15 over Detroit.
The majority of Green Bay’s Thanksgiving games have occurred against Detroit, naturally, since the league didn’t expand to that third game only recently and since 1951 only the Lions, and later Cowboys, have played (and hosted) games on that day (not counting the AFL contests).
