Head coach Sean Payton will start a fourth quarterback of the 2021 NFL season in a Week 16 ESPN “Monday Night Football” matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
First-stringer Jameis Winston, expected to succeed franchise legend and future Hall of Famer Drew Brees, suffered a torn ACL on Oct. 31. Trevor Siemian started for the next month, and Taysom Hill had started from Weeks 13-15.
Both Siemian and Hill tested positive for COVID-19 last week and are out Monday.
That leaves the Saints down to their latest option: Ian Book.
