According to the latest numbers by Sensor Tower, five games earned more than $1 billion in 2020. These games are: PUBG Mobile, Honor of Kings, Pokèmon Go, Coin Master and Roblox. The money earned was across both iOS and Android platforms.
Despite being banned in India for a few months, PUBG Mobile emerged as the year’s biggest game in terms of raking in the moolah. In 2020, Tencent’s PUBG Mobile made close $2.6 billion, which is an increase of 64.3% compared to last year.
Honor of Kings, also made by PUBG developer, saw players spend about $2.5 billion — 43% increase compared to 2019. Honor of Kings is an online multiplayer battle game and has been developed by TiMi Studios.
